I consider myself a foodie and constantly look for places to eat frequented by locals, whether in my home city or whenever I’m traveling. The food stand in the image above is in Marrakech, Morocco and was the only one in the main square (Jemaa el-Fnaa) that was constantly packed with regulars from the town. The smoke and the smell of food drew me closer to this stand and I had to sit down for a meal because it was just too hard to resist. The place didn’t disappoint. The flavors were heavenly and I soon found myself digging in for second helpings. The liver pâté curry was definitely my favorite!
Recently, I came across this image again and was happy to know that it received an Honorable Mention in the 2012 Lucie Foundation/International Photography Awards.
Thank you judges! (sorry you missed out on the food though)
